Technological developments related to renewable energies don’t stop progress.
Today we talk about the new battery by Testa, the company that designs, manufactures and sells electric cars and components for electric vehicle propulsion. Elon Musk, founder of the company, has announced they will go further and promises a battery capable of storing renewable energy that will reach households in six months, which will end up with the electricity bill in homes and the dependence on power companies.
For now, the rest of the details of the story are just assumptions and suggests that it would be a hydrogen battery and rechargeable hydrogen from renewable sources, according to The Verge. The battery would give all the electricity a home needs a week before needing recharging.
It is expected that domestic batteries will be presented in a few weeks and be ready for commercialization in about 6 months.
In the US the situation of electricity is very different from we have in Spain. In some areas often have supply problems due to increasing demand, saturating networks and causing cuts, so Tesla battery could alleviate this problem, besides causing a decrease in electricity bills to those who decide to be autonomous in electricity supply.
At the moment the possibilities of this battery in Spain are very remote. It is well known the protectionist system we have, where it is expected to appear legal obstacles and the electricity companies will be ready for a fight creating an obstacle to the use of the battery. The government has already threatened with the adoption of a Royal Decree, so the battery development here would be very complicated, imposing tolls to users of photovoltaic systems, but we will talk about later.
It is clear where we are headed. What is not so clear is that they will allow, striving to avoid the inevitable. Renewable energies are here to stay, no matter who likes it.
